Black’s Heritage Farm is a fifth-generation family farm near Ames, Iowa that offers fresh vegetables and family fun. We have over 300 acres of farmland that we work and manage ourselves, continuing a proud tradition started by our ancestors.

Black’s Heritage Farm is Midwest living at its finest, and we invite you to share it with us! Throughout the season, we offer several "uniquely Iowan" activities, including pick-your-own pumpkins, bonfires, hayrides, and pony rides for the kids.

We are located in central Iowa near Ames, Iowa. To find our farm from Interstate 35 go west on highway 30 approximately 3 1/2 miles to exit 146 which is the Iowa State University, University Blvd. exit. Go south 2 miles on University Blvd., which turns into 530th Ave. You will see big signs and lots of buildings that will guide you to the parking area for our farm. We grow and sell a wide variety of farm-fresh vegetables each season – including sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, and pumpkins. You can buy our produce at local grocers and Farmer’s Markets or direct from us.

Picking your own pumpkin is a timeless fall tradition. Find the perfect one at Black’s Heritage Farm, where you can take a walk through the pumpkin patch in search of the biggest, roundest, or most colorful pumpkin of them all. Great for kids!

We offer trolley rides around the farm throughout the season. Enjoy the open air during your guided tour of the country life. Perfect for both educational and entertainment purposes!
